HGUC Anksha Space-Type WIP #2

I got it in my head that I wanted the big forward tipped antenna that the Kehaar had so I have been working on my own. This is actually also my very first attempt at scribing, it was kind of fun I'm hoping to do more in the future.

Honestly it looked a bit odd at first, but on the MS it actually looks pretty decent.

I also had this really odd epiphany moment when I noticed that shoulders would actually look better backwards for what I was planning.

I felt like the chest armour should be a bit thicker to balance out the rear and since I'm removing the transforming functions anyway I might as well.

Completed Kits #15: HGUC Byarlant Custom

I finished this up just recently, and to be honest I'm very pleased with how it came out.

I'm still trying to get my head wrapped around using an air brush again, so I'm still trying to keep it relatively clean as my builds go.

For paint I used Vallejo products again, they're just what is on hand for me, for colours I used Medium Blue, White Grey, Pastel Green for what was the bright green piping for a slightly more
subtle look, Carmine Red for some of the thrusters, Deep Yellow for the antennae, Steel for the frame parts, Chrome that doesn't actually look all that much like chrome for the rest of the thrusters and some Black wash for the lines.

Completed Kits #14: Mass Production Valvrave "Zaku"

This was my first completed kit of 2016 it has been completed for quite a while now, I've just been really slow about taking pictures.

For this one, I've just been trying to practice using an air brush again. I tried to remove a the seams with varying success, and I made a few changes that I think make it look even closer to the Graze.

In terms of paint I used Vallejo products, they are most of what my local hobby shop carries; I used Pastel Green for most of the parts, Grey Green for some accents, Carmine Red for a few more minor details, and then Steel for the frame parts.

HGUC Anksha Space-Type WIP #1

Since I'm pretty much done on the Byarlant, I wanted to do something a bit more different for my next kit.

I decided to work on my HGUC Anksha which is pretty unconventional as kits go, to change it up further I wanted to build a Space Type version inspired by the Asshimar Kehaar.

To start I have removed a lot of seams, they are super easy to remove on the HGUC Anksha, no inconvenient joint types.

From there, I have started modifying the backpack, I've pretty much removed the MA mode from this kit, it is not final yet I have a few more things to do.

Further changes I wanted to make were to bulk up the chest more, and change the shield/gun things that the Anksha has.

Overview of 2015

It has been a pretty busy year for all sorts of things, this year alone has brought 2 new Gundam animes and the continuation of 2 others. I'd like to think that I haven't been any less busy with work on my own plamo.

The first completed kit of the year comes in the form of the MG Marasai Ver. War, I built up a custom rifle to go with this and painted it up with a couple shades of grey, red and a touch of oil-rubbed bronze to round things out. Overall it is very reminiscent of the mass production Zaku III.

MG Marasai Ver. War, completed January 13th, 2015
The second kit that I completed this year is the MG Shenlong Ver. EW, this one is just a straight build with the standard colour scheme with the only alteration being a little bit of extra blue. This one also turned out surprisingly clean.

MG Shenlong Ver. EW, completed April 2nd, 2015
SD Delta Plus and SD Banshee became my third and fourth completed kits of the year respectively, these are actually the very first SD's that I have ever modified and painted. The paint was pretty straight forward, my goal was simply to get a pretty anime accurate look for the banshee and then make the Delta Plus a little more Delta Gundam. For modications I just filled in a lot of gaps with putty to get some thing that I hope is a bit better looking.

SD Delta Plus, completed May 20th, 2015

SD Banshee, completed May 20th, 2015

The MG Re-Nu was probably my favourite project this year and the fifth model kit that I completed this year. I built this one up for the 2015 Gunpla Builders Championship Group Build at Gundam Eclipse. This one kit represents quite a few interesting things for me, a little bit of scratch-building and even some 3D printed parts that I designed myself. The colour scheme was a pretty straight forward colour swap of the original Hi-Nu that this was built around.

MG Re-Nu, completed June 30th, 2015
Overall I think it was a pretty good year for me, I wish that I had done a bit more in the later months but I was feeling a little burnt out and very busy with work.

HGUC Byarlant Custom WIP #3

Originally I was thinking of doing the frame parts in a darker metallic, but I kind of decided that I have done far too much of that already, so I decided on Vallejo's Steel for those parts.

For the green power cables, I decided on a very light green so that it wouldn't distract from the tri-colours at all. It is really quite subtle in dimmer lighting it is barely distinguishable from the white.

I only have few minor things left to do on this kit a few little touch ups here and there, nothing as devastating as what happened to the Valvrave's shoulders, and I would like to give it a panel wash.

HGUC Byarlant Custom WIP #2

Still going on that HGUC Byarlant Custom, I'm pretty pleased with how things are progressing. I haven't done any pre-shading or anything like that, I'm thinking that I'll be trying that on the next kit.

Right now I've got all of my white, red, yellow, blue and silver parts done.

I also finished filling in all of the gaps in the claws and heels.

This is pretty much the most complete part at this time, but i makes for a pretty decent sample of the colour scheme.
